Date: 10 July, 2017

On Thursday, 18 May 2017, clients and staff took part in a fire investigation training day with Hampshire Fire & Rescue’s Fire Investigation Team, in Eastleigh.

Those who attended were able to investigate real fire scenes to determine the cause and spread of fire. Mock rooms were set up and then ignited by the Fire Investigation Team within containers on the site headquarters.

The remaining evidence was searched and analysed to determine how the fires had started and spread and theories were then tested by reviewing videos of the actual events causing the fire.

Hampshire’s Fire Investigation Team gave practical demonstrations of the dangers of backdrafts and flashovers in controlled experiments and they showed how they use their sniffer dogs to search fire scenes to identify if accelerants were present.

The event was a great success, and we are likely to run this again in the not too distant future for those who missed out on this date. If you are interested in attending the next event, please contact Natasha.shoulder@highgroup.co.uk and she will be more than happy to place you on the waiting list.
